- Most of our garments are made by American Apparel in downtown Los Angeles. One of the reasons we use American Apparel is because we can rest assured that those who manufacture our garments are paid relatively fairly for their efforts. This is often not the case with garments manufactured in other countries. We visit the factory often and have seen that American Apparel cares about their employees and the environment. This helps the earth because American Apparel is conscious of the fabrics and dyes they use in the process and about recyling their waste materials. Additionally, they are are increasing their organic cotton lines and exploring powering their facilities using solar power.
- We use lightweight (but strong) packaging materials. We do this to reduce the weight that trucks and planes need to carry to deliver our products to you. This is also the reason we don't offer gift boxes (to reduce added weight) - but we do offer your items wrapped in decorative tissue.
- We re-use and recycle our manufacturing byproducts whenever possible. This greatly reduces the amount of waste produced by the manufacturing process and saves energy by cutting down on some of the raw materials we need, which reduces the footprint of the transportation methods to move these materials.
- Our premium yoga tanks are high in bamboo fiber content. Bamboo is a natural, organic and sustainable raw material that results in amazingly soft and durable fabric. Our new yoga tanks have a high bamboo content, and they look and feel great!.
- We use (and reuse) as many American-made packaging materials as we can. This includes our packing tape and boxes. Plastic items made in the USA are generally done so under tighter regulations and produce fewer harmful byproducts in the manufacturing process than those made in Asia.
